The Journey of Two Heroes
Sensly
Mental health marketplace and SaaS

Until it happens...

to you.

Personal Relevance Effect

It took COVID-19 and mass isolation to create a large-scale shift in awareness of mental health issues. Even though long before the pandemic, we already knew that one in six people suffer from mental disorders, or that the estimated cost of poor mental health in the European Union alone is €600 billion a year.

So, what was new?
Well, the power of experience.

There are many ways

Loss aversion

Consistently unmet needs and expectations by the healthcare system leave a huge gap to be filled by innovation.

The sensitive nature of the mental health services and the complex legal, security, and ethical landscapes make the margin of error slim.

With health at stake, how fast is fast enough for innovation?

Looking into
the mirror

Expert bias

But this time, it was the mental health professionals’ turn. Surveys and interviews not only highlighted how resources are being wasted in the mental health industry but also revealed a significant lack of clarity and consensus around patient-related matters.

So, if the goal is to help people navigate through their difficulties, shouldn’t the landscape be a bit less complicated?

Trust is a process

The need and want paradox

Communication in such an environment requires understanding a matrix of needs, wants, and beliefs that lie between where people are and where they would like to be.

But… one commonly found paradox begs the question “why don’t people want the help that they need?”

Simple answers include fears of vulnerability, mistrust in professionals, or societal stigma.

Simple solution? You guessed it.

Asking for help

For millions this “small step” feels as complex as the moon landing.

The Paths of Two Heroes

and those

Healthcare professionals who strive to make a difference and pursue self-growth by helping their patients find balance and meaning.

Both...

meet in a space that fosters personalized mental health care, where they connect, build relationships and grow.

Leading with empathy

Digitizing a service that was almost solely done offline requires the community to become the axis point of change.

Feedback and collaboration through direct relationships, webinars, joint projects, and social media engagement have resulted in creating a marketplace and SaaS rated 4.7 out of 5.

Changing the narrative

From normalization to action.

To shatter the stigma and boost confidence in those seeking mental health support, Sensly focuses on gradual engagement. We share useful tips and insights on social media and blogs, host free webinars on hot topics, and offer free chats with specialists.

These efforts target specific aspirations, challenges, and disorders, leading people to take action by showing that we understand and that change is possible.

It’s a dialog

More marketing and communication
Mental health is a difficult topic to talk about, not speaking of advertising it. Different moods, solutions? Doing X led to: Regardless of staggering stat about men beilng less likely to get help, out of 700 hundred Sensly’s patients within first year, 48% were men. How? Continuous learning and adapting to stay relevant.

Problems are complex enough - Getting help shouldn’t be. Person using lap/mobile and having a session

This philosophy underlies the way Sensly created experiences from digitizing the original service, through solutions like Sensly assistant, all-in-one place for online councellling (repetition) with access to XXX verified and highly qualified professionals.

Experience is everything

User experience is at the core of everything we do. We design every aspect of the patient experience to offer clarity and predictability, helping people navigate the often overwhelming world of therapy approaches, symptoms, specializations, and methods. Our goal is to make everyone feel calm and in control throughout their journey.

Better quality of life

Changing the industry

SaaS mockups and visuals
Not only digitizing the service but also the workflow behind it. To benefit patients and ensure technology adoption, solutions were designed with and for mental health professionals and patients. Like in therapy, when change is coming, initial resistance is natural. Many therapeutic schools were skeptical about the efficiency of this channel. It wasn’t meant to replace traditional methods but to widen the possibilities. Community driven approach was the key. Now, digital counseling is an industry standard for most schools.

Empowering those, who do it for others.

SaaS profile, marketplace, video section, people, mood

As therapists equip their patients with tools, Sensly similarly assists mental health professionals in overcoming challenges on their journey to professional fulfillment and accomplishment.

Sensly is the go-to solution for managing digital practices and supporting operational tasks. It enables mental health professionals to work independently, establish their own brand, and work with better-aligned patients, thereby enhancing the efficiency of their help.

It starts with culture

TBD
Staying on track Vital part of all of those efforts and staying agile in such. environemnt was culture and methodology build around community. Design system to start with, instratructure and development – culture, agile Build in a way to pivot and easily reach new TA like B2B2C.

Up for the challenge

summary and success
What is the end? What is the success? Leading team of 10 to XYZ to build marketplace ans SaaS in tough industry. Acquiring Xpaients, X MH and X sessions. Building a brand that delivered on the promise through communication, community management to product development. Evaluation 2,5 x. Being CEO is demanding and you have to master the art of balance to stay healthy to be thre for your 100% as business needs you. You have to take care of yourself. That’s a message to my younger self, and you, reading this – there is no business performance if we are not well and healthy. Obvious, but it’s easy to get lost. We often look for how great someone can perform at work but do we care how they care of themselves to be able to do so at the first place?

My own biases
